Decorative Column Ornamentation

Decorative column ornamentation is the general name for the relief and ornamental elements added to the shaft, capital and base sections of a column. It shapes the column's surface with details such as fluting, acanthus leaves, volutes and plain mouldings. Indoors it is used in living rooms and transition areas, and outdoors on entrance and arcade columns to give a classical look. Polyurethane ornamentation elements are light; they are applied directly to the column surface with construction adhesive. The material resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or peel, and can be painted; it installs faster and cleaner than plaster ornamentation.
