Polyurethane Pilaster Capital with Acanthus and Volute Motif

The P5024A is a premium decorative pilaster capital designed to crown flat wall columns, bringing classical architectural symmetry to high-end residential and commercial projects. Engineered as a lightweight yet robust alternative to heavy stone or fragile plaster, this architectural element serves as a focal point in neoclassical and traditional interior or exterior designs.

Measuring 134 mm in depth, 425 mm in width, and 310 mm in height, the capital is molded from high-density rigid polyurethane. With a density of 150-220 kg/m³, it offers a structural feel similar to wood but maintains superior dimensional stability. The closed-cell structure provides low water absorption (below 1%), helping resist moisture, rot, and insect damage in the range in which dimensional stability has been tested between -20 °C and +70 °C.

Visually, the P5024A is distinguished by its deep-relief carving. It showcases symmetrically scrolled volutes on the outer edges and a lush arrangement of acanthus leaves at the center, creating striking shadow lines. The surface is delivered with a factory-applied primer, which prepares the detailed relief for final painting and ensures excellent coating adhesion.

This versatile component is widely used in luxury settings. Indoors, it perfectly tops pilasters framing fireplaces, library bookshelves, or grand doorways. Outdoors, it serves as a decorative cap for flat columns on villa facades, porticos, and hotel entrances, provided it is finished with a UV-resistant topcoat to prevent discoloration.

Installation is straightforward and efficient. The lightweight capital is affixed to a clean, dry surface using polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive, followed by mechanical screw fastening for long-term safety. After filling the screw holes with a high-quality filler and sanding the surface, the element is ready for two coats of water-based or synthetic paint, offering a seamless, durable finish that outperforms traditional plaster.
