This density provides a solid, wood-like surface hardness while remaining exceptionally lightweight. Unlike plaster or gypsum, its closed-cell composition ensures less than 1% water absorption, making it completely resistant to moisture, swelling, and rot.

The product is delivered with a factory-applied base primer. While this primer prepares the surface for painting, paint manufacturers typically require their own specialty primers to validate paint warranties; therefore, applying an additional primer coat remains optional and at the installer's discretion. Polure does not warrant paint finishes.
