decorative volute capital

A decorative volute capital is a polyurethane column capital with spiral (volute) scrolls at its top, inspired by the Ionic order. It is mounted on the upper part of a column or pilaster, at the junction of the shaft and ceiling, as a classical ornamental element. The polyurethane body is light and is applied directly with construction adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or warp, and can be painted in any colour. Being lighter than its stone and plaster equivalents, installation is easy and fast. As it is moulded, the spiral scroll details repeat identically on every piece. Polure produces decorative volute capitals in sizes suited to different column diameters.
