Polyurethane Ionic Column Capital Pillar Head Model

The P5230I architectural element is a premium Ionic column capital designed to bring classical elegance to modern and traditional structures. As a crucial decorative transition component, it bridges the gap between the column shaft and the overhead architrave, enhancing the visual weight and structural balance of your pillars. This capital is engineered for both interior and exterior applications, offering a grand aesthetic for neoclassical facades, entryways, and luxury interior spaces.

Manufactured from high-density rigid polymer with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, this piece offers the structural durability of wood or stone without the excessive weight. Measuring 362 mm in width, 472 mm in depth, and 185 mm in height, it is perfectly proportioned for medium to large-scale pillars. The closed-cell structure ensures a water absorption rate of under 1%, making it highly resistant to rot, mold, and humidity. Its dimensional stability has been tested between -20 °C and +70 °C, without warping or cracking.

The visual design of the P5230I highlights the iconic Greek Ionic order. It features prominent bilateral volute curls (spirals) that gracefully flank a central ornamental band decorated with precise egg-and-dart relief carvings. A flat, robust square abacus sits on top, providing a clean flat platform, while the circular bottom collar allows a seamless connection to round columns. These intricate details are achieved through high-precision molding, resulting in sharp, symmetrical lines that are impossible to replicate with standard plaster casting.

This versatile component is widely used in high-end hospitality and residential projects. It is ideal for grand villa entrances, luxury hotel lobbies, reception halls, wedding venues, and classical building restorations. When paired with full or half-columns, it creates a striking focal point in high-ceilinged living rooms or outdoor verandas. For exterior installations, coating the capital with a high-quality UV-resistant paint is mandatory to prevent yellowing and ensure long-term color fastness.

Compared to heavy gypsum plaster or fragile concrete, this lightweight material is remarkably easy to install. The product comes pre-coated with a factory-applied primer that prepares the surface for painting. While this factory base coat enhances paint adhesion, applying an additional primer is optional and depends on the specific warranty guidelines of your chosen paint manufacturer. For a secure installation, apply a high-quality polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive to the contact surfaces, reinforce mechanically with screws, fill joints with acrylic putty, sand smoothly, and finish with two coats of paint.
