Decorative Polyurethane Column Capital Model P5420

The P5420 is a premium decorative column capital engineered to elevate architectural designs with classical Greek and Roman aesthetics. This square-to-round transitioning capital serves as an elegant crowning element for non-bearing columns, pilasters, or decorative entryways. By blending historical design with modern material science, it offers high visual impact without the heavy structural load associated with stone or plaster castings.

Measuring 356x356 mm at the top with a height of 260 mm, this capital is manufactured from high-density rigid polyurethane with a density of 150-220 kg/m³. This specific density provides a wood-like toughness and superb impact resistance while remaining exceptionally lightweight. With a water absorption rate below 1%, the closed-cell material is dimensionally stable and resistant to rotting, warping, or cracking, with dimensional stability tested between -20 °C and +70 °C.

The visual appeal of the P5420 lies in its intricate relief work. It features deeply carved acanthus leaves and elegant corner volutes reminiscent of classical Corinthian and Ionic architectural orders. The transition from the sharp, square upper abacus to the smooth, rounded lower collar creates a dramatic shadow play. The factory-applied primer ensures a smooth surface that captures every micro-detail of the carving, making it ready for final finishing.

This versatile architectural element is suitable for both interior and exterior installations. In grand residential lobbies, luxury hotels, and wedding venues, it acts as a focal point atop interior columns. Externally, it is ideal for villa entrances, porticos, pergolas, and veranda supports. For outdoor applications, coating the product with a UV-resistant topcoat is mandatory to prevent the polyurethane from yellowing under direct sunlight.

Installing the P5420 is straightforward compared to heavy plaster or stone alternatives. It is secured using a high-quality polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive combined with mechanical screws for a permanent hold. The factory-applied primer prepares the surface for painting, though applying an additional primer coat based on your paint manufacturer's guidelines is optional but recommended for warranty purposes. It can be finished with any standard water-based or synthetic paint.
