A decorative polyurethane column is a polyurethane decoration element that gives a space the appearance of a round column. It is used in interiors and on facades as a free-standing full column or a wall-attached half-column; it consists of a shaft, base, and capital. The polyurethane column is decorative, carries no load, and is also applied to clad existing structural columns. Polyurethane is lightweight and applied with construction adhesive; labour is faster than with a stone or concrete column. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack or blister, and can be painted. Because it is moulded, the shaft and capital details repeat identically on every piece.
