Each Pilaster Sütun arrives with a factory-applied primer designed to prepare the surface for painting. However, please note that paint manufacturers generally do not guarantee adhesion or finish longevity unless their own brand-specific primers are applied first. Therefore, applying an additional primer layer prior to final painting is optional and remains the sole responsibility of the customer. Polure does not offer warranties on paints applied to our products. For outdoor installations, applying a high-quality, UV-resistant paint is mandatory to protect the raw polyurethane from yellowing and weather-related degradation over time.

Installation
For a secure and permanent installation of your Pilaster Sütun, follow these systematic steps. Begin by ensuring the installation wall is clean, dry, and free of dust or loose particles. Use a laser level to mark the exact vertical alignment. Cut the polyurethane components to size using a standard miter saw at a 45-degree angle where joints meet. Apply a high-quality polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive in continuous beads along the back of the column shaft; do not use silicone-based adhesives under any circumstances. Press the piece firmly against the wall and secure it mechanically with screws to ensure permanent stability while the adhesive cures. Fill all joint lines and screw holes with a high-grade exterior putty. Once dry, sand the filled areas using 180-220 grit sandpaper. Applying an additional primer is optional before finishing with two coats of premium water-based or synthetic paint. For all outdoor installations, using UV-resistant paint is mandatory.
Care Information
Maintenance of our high-density polyurethane pilasters is straightforward. For indoor installations, periodic dusting or wiping with a damp, soft cloth and mild soap is sufficient. Avoid using harsh chemical solvents or abrasive scrubbing pads, which can damage the paint finish. Outdoor pilasters should be inspected during routine building maintenance. Depending on local climate conditions and sun exposure, a fresh coat of UV-resistant paint may be required every 5 to 10 years to maintain optimal color depth and surface protection.
