polyurethane pilaster

A polyurethane pilaster is a decorative polyurethane shaft element applied half-embedded into the wall to give the appearance of a column, with a flat or fluted surface. It is used beside doors and windows and on facade and interior walls to create a vertical accent, and is usually completed together with a pilaster capital and base. The polyurethane material is lightweight and is fixed directly to the wall surface with construction adhesive. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. Being lighter than its stone or plaster equivalents makes carrying and installation easier and shortens labour time. Since the shaft is mould-produced, the fluting and section dimensions are identical on every piece. Polure produces pilaster shafts in different width and surface options.
