Polyurethane Column Base and Capital Model P5230D

The P5230D architectural element is a premium molded component designed to serve as a robust column base or classical capital. Engineered for high-end residential and commercial projects across Europe, this versatile piece adds structural definition and historical character to modern pillars. Its balanced proportions make it an ideal transition element between the vertical shaft of a column and the horizontal surfaces of floors, ceilings, or architraves.

Constructed from high-density rigid polymer with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, this model offers the physical toughness of traditional hardwoods without the associated weight or susceptibility to environmental decay. Measuring 427 mm in width, 427 mm in depth, and 190 mm in height, its substantial footprint is perfectly scaled for medium-sized columns, providing a stable visual anchor that enhances the architectural weight of any entryway or hall.

Aesthetically, the P5230D features a clean, stepped concentric design inspired by classical Tuscan and Doric orders. The smooth, curved profiles transition seamlessly into a flat top plate, creating a shadow line that defines the column\'s boundaries. The precise molding process ensures that every curve is perfectly symmetrical and free of the surface imperfections often found in cast stone, concrete, or plaster alternatives.

This moisture-resistant element is fully compatible with both interior foyers and demanding exterior facades. With a water absorption rate of less than 1%, it remains unaffected by heavy rain, humidity, or frost, preventing the cracking, rotting, and insect infestation that plague wooden alternatives. Whether framing a grand entrance portico or defining a luxurious hotel lobby, it delivers consistent visual performance.

Installation is significantly faster and safer than working with heavy plaster or stone. The lightweight component is secured using polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive combined with mechanical screws for a permanent bond. While the factory-applied primer prepares the surface for finishing, please note that paint manufacturers often require their own primers to validate their paint warranties; therefore, an additional primer coat is optional and remains at the discretion of the installer. For all outdoor applications, finishing with a UV-resistant paint is mandatory to protect the material from sun exposure.
