Decorative Polyurethane Corinthian Pilaster Capital

The P5020E flat column head is an architectural element designed to complete wall-mounted pilasters with classical order. This high-density polymer capital provides structural symmetry and vertical definition to premium wall designs, acting as a transition between the column shaft and the ceiling or architrave.

Measuring 58x273x310 mm, this element is manufactured from rigid polymer with a density of 150-220 kg/m³. This specific density offers a lightweight yet highly durable alternative to traditional gypsum plaster or heavy stone. With water absorption levels below one percent, the material is highly resistant to moisture, rotting, and insect damage, making it suitable for both interior and exterior environments with a reduced risk of warping or cracking over time.

The design of the capital features detailed Corinthian-style acanthus leaf carvings at the base, transitioning into prominent Ionic-style volutes on either side. A central floral medallion anchors the composition, creating a balanced classical aesthetic. The flat back profile ensures a flush fit against flat wall surfaces, making it an excellent choice for low-projection decorative pilaster installations.

This decorative piece is highly versatile, commonly used in luxury residential interiors, hotel lobbies, and historic restoration projects. It can frame grand entranceways, flank fireplaces, ornament library shelving, or decorate exterior facades when finished with UV-resistant paint. It serves as a visual anchor that enhances the scale and proportion of any room or entryway. Designers often pair it with matching fluted or smooth pilaster shafts to create a cohesive classical wall system.

For installation, clean and dry the mounting surface, apply polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive, and secure the piece mechanically with screws. Joint lines and screw holes should be filled with an exterior-grade mastic, then sanded smooth with 180-220 grit sandpaper. The factory-applied primer prepares the surface for finishing, though an additional primer coat remains optional and at the discretion of the client based on specific paint manufacturer guidelines. Finish with two coats of quality water-based or synthetic paint. This material offers superior ease of handling compared to heavy plaster cast elements, reducing labor time and structural load during installation.
