A decorative wood-effect beam is a polyurethane ceiling beam produced to give the texture and colour effect of real timber. It is used on living room and kitchen ceilings to create the look of wooden beams and give the space a rustic character. Being hollow and lightweight, it is easily fixed to the ceiling with construction adhesive or a concealed bracket; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack, warp or rot, and can be painted in wood tones.
