decorative fluted column
A decorative fluted column is a polyurethane column element with vertical grooves (flutes) running along its shaft. It is used to give the column the classical fluting that adds shadow and depth, and is applied in parts as shaft, capital and base. The polyurethane body is far lighter than stone and concrete and is applied with construction adhesive. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack, blister or warp, and can be painted in any colour. Being light, it adds no extra load to the structure and installs quickly. As it is moulded, the flute spacing and depth are identical on every piece. Polure produces decorative fluted columns in a range of diameters and heights.
