decorative column head
A decorative column head is the polyurethane capital part that sits on the top end of a column shaft and completes the column from above. In decorative column setups it is mounted on top of the shaft to give the column a proportioned upper finish and transition. The polyurethane is lightweight and applied directly with mounting adhesive; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and is paintable. Being lighter than stone or plaster equivalents, it is easy to install at height. Because it is mould-cast, the relief and profile details repeat the same on every piece. Polure produces decorative column heads in a range of diameter and model options.
