The decorative column foot is the base part that rests on the floor under the column shaft. It connects the shaft to the floor, gives the look of distributing the load to the base and completes the lower proportion of the column. Indoors it is used in living rooms and halls, and outdoors at entrances, arcades and porches together with the shaft. The polyurethane foot is light; it is fixed to the floor and shaft with construction adhesive and supported with screws if needed. The material resists moisture and impact, does not crack, swell or peel, and can be painted; it has an advantage over wood in areas in contact with floor moisture.
