Exterior facade column types refers to the different decorative polyurethane column kinds used on the outer surface of buildings. There are plain, fluted (grooved) and ornate bodies, as well as full and half column options; each is chosen according to the facade style and the place of use. They create a vertical accent at entrances, balconies and between windows on the facade. The polyurethane material is lightweight and applied to the facade with mounting adhesive; the hollow body can cover real load-bearing columns. It resists moisture, sun and temperature swings; it does not crack or blister and can be painted with exterior facade paint. Because they are mould-cast, the body cross-section and surface are the same on every piece.
