exterior column base

An exterior column base is the polyurethane base element that sits at the bottom of a column on a building facade, carrying the column shaft and seating it onto the floor. It is used beneath columns on entrance facades, balconies and terraces as a transition element between the column and the floor slab. A polyurethane base is lightweight and applied directly with construction adhesive; it resists moisture, rain and outdoor weather, does not crack or blister, and can be painted with exterior facade paint. It weighs less than plaster or stone equivalents, so it adds no extra load to the facade. Because it is mould-cast, the base profile repeats identically on every piece.
