exterior column plinth

An exterior column plinth is the polyurethane base element that sits beneath the column shaft on a building facade and seats the column onto the floor. It is used beneath columns on entrances, balconies and terraces as a transition element between the column and the floor slab. A polyurethane plinth is lightweight and applied directly with construction adhesive; it resists moisture, rain and temperature changes, does not crack or blister, and can be painted with exterior facade paint. It weighs less than stone or concrete and installs faster. Because it is mould-cast, the plinth profile repeats identically on every piece.
