An arch is an architectural element that spans the top of an opening between two points with a curved line; in decoration it is applied as a polyurethane arch profile that gives this form. It is used on door, passage and niche openings to create an arched look on the wall. The polyurethane arch pieces are mould-produced to suit the radius of the opening and join side by side to complete the curved line. The polyurethane material is light, and because the arch form is mould-produced it runs evenly along the curve; it resists moisture and impact, does not crack or swell, and can be painted. It is fixed to the wall with adhesive and dowels, lighter and faster to apply than plaster or wood. Polure produces arch profiles in different radius and width options.
