Polyurethane Curved Arch Molding and Decorative Cornice

The P1460D554HO is a premium high-density polyurethane curved architectural element engineered to deliver a clean, classical transition for arched openings, vaulted ceilings, and window headers. Designed specifically for discerning architects and interior designers, this curved profile effortlessly replaces heavy, brittle plaster or warp-prone timber. It provides an elegant, structured frame that enhances depth perception and adds a refined neoclassical touch to both interior and exterior environments.

Manufactured from rigid polyurethane with a density of 150-220 kg/m³, this architectural component combines the structural durability of hardwood with a lightweight, easy-to-install form. Measuring 595 mm in depth, 1295 mm in length, and 480 mm in height, it possesses a closed-cell physical structure that limits water absorption to under 1%. With dimensional stability tested between -20 °C and +70 °C, it resists thermal expansion, contraction, warping, and rot, ensuring outstanding dimensional stability across varying climates.

Visually, the P1460D554HO features a sophisticated stepped outer profile that transitions into a deep, sweeping S-curve (ogee) cove, anchored by a clean, flat base step. This geometric configuration generates pronounced shadow lines, accentuating the curvature of arched transitions. The smooth, factory-applied primer coat provides an excellent base, ensuring a uniform surface finish that highlights the precise contours of the profile once the final coats are applied.

This versatile curved element is ideal for high-end residential villas, commercial lobbies, and boutique hospitality spaces. It can be utilized to frame majestic interior passageways, corridor portals, or decorative wall niches. On exterior facades, it functions beautifully as a durable window arch or portal header, especially when combined with vertical pilasters or straight architrave mouldings to form a unified, grand entrance.

Installation is highly efficient compared to traditional masonry. The lightweight profile is secured using polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive along the joint lines, supplemented by mechanical screws for a permanent, secure bond—the use of silicone adhesives must be avoided. Joints and screw heads are easily filled with joint compound, sanded with 180-220 grit paper, and finished with paint. While the factory-applied primer prepares the surface, an additional primer coat is optional depending on the paint manufacturer's guidelines. Two coats of water-based or synthetic paint are recommended, with UV-resistant coatings being mandatory for all outdoor applications.
