Polyurethane Round Archway Moulding with Keystone

The P1456D115VID is a premium architectural element designed to frame door portals, window arches, and interior passages with distinct historical character. Measuring 170 mm in profile depth, 1550 mm in overall span, and 871 mm in height, this semicircular structure serves as a prominent focal point in both residential and commercial renovations. By providing a clean, curved architectural transition, it transforms plain wall openings into classical features.

Manufactured from high-density rigid PU with a density rating of 150-220 kg/m³, this structural trim offers the tactile hardness of traditional timber without the vulnerability to moisture. The material maintains outstanding dimensional stability within a temperature range of -20 °C / +70 °C and exhibits a water absorption rate of less than 1%. These technical properties ensure that the arch will not warp, shrink, or split when exposed to fluctuating environmental conditions.

Visually, the archway features a stepped profile with clean, parallel shadow lines that define its semicircular trajectory. At the apex, a substantial trapezoidal keystone breaks the continuous curve, grounding the design in classical masonry traditions. This central block provides depth and a structural anchor point, making the entire assembly look like a hand-carved stone archway rather than a lightweight synthetic molding.

This versatile profile is highly suitable for both interior walls and exterior building envelopes. It can be used to crown main entrance doors, frame arched windows on neoclassical facades, or decorate wide hallway passages. When installed outdoors, finishing the surface with a high-quality UV-resistant paint is mandatory to prevent natural discoloration from sunlight exposure and maintain a pristine appearance.

For a secure installation, the archway must be mounted using a specialized polyurethane (PU) mounting adhesive on all joint and wall contact surfaces, supplemented with mechanical screws. The product is delivered with a factory-applied primer that prepares the surface for finishing. While this base coat facilitates painting, applying an additional primer according to your paint manufacturer's guidelines is optional but recommended to ensure optimal adhesion and warranty coverage.

Compared to heavy gypsum plaster or moisture-sensitive MDF, this rigid PU archway represents a durable, lightweight, and crack-resistant alternative. It simplifies the installation process, reduces labor costs, and provides an easily maintainable surface that can be sanded, filled, and repainted over its long lifespan, making it a preferred choice for modern architectural projects.
