A decorative portal arch is an arched polyurethane enclosure element applied to the top of a door or passage opening. Framing the top of the opening in an arched shape, it gives the passage the appearance of an arched entrance; it is used in hallways, living rooms, and room passages. Polyurethane is lightweight and applied directly with construction adhesive; labour is faster than with a stone or plaster arch. It resists moisture and impact, does not crack or blister, and can be painted. Because it is moulded, the arch profile and motif details repeat identically on every piece.
