Polyurethane Curved Arch Molding and Portal Profiles

The P1456D854VI is a premium architectural component designed to transition flat surfaces into elegant, rounded portal structures. This smooth, stepped profile brings a soft geometric curvature to stark structural transitions, serving as an ideal decorative bridge for interior door frames, passages, and exterior window arches. By softening hard angles, it enhances the structural rhythm of any space.

Engineered with a precise dimension of 137 mm in depth, 1744 mm in length, and a 282 mm arch rise, this element provides a balanced scale for standard and grand architectural openings. Manufactured from high-grade rigid polyurethane at a density of 150-220 kg/m³, it offers the physical density and crisp detailing of natural wood without the structural vulnerabilities. Its closed-cell microscopic structure ensures weather resistance and dimensional stability tested between -20 °C and +70 °C, making it highly resistant to rotting, warping, or seasonal swelling.

Visually, the profile showcases a refined design featuring a clean stepped edge leading into a deep, smooth concave sweep. This classic cavetto transition terminates in a flat horizontal lip, creating an attractive play of light and shadow along the curve. This minimalist yet traditional detailing allows the molding to adapt flawlessly to both modern minimalist portals and classic European-style facades, adding depth and structural definition to flat masonry or drywall.

This versatile curved molding excels in both indoor and outdoor environments. In luxury residential interiors, it defines elegant passage portals between dining halls and living areas, or frames decorative wall niches. On exterior facades, when coated with UV-resistant coatings, it serves as a robust arched window crown or a decorative lintel detail above entrance doors, coordinating seamlessly with straight pilasters or classic window trim.

Installing this lightweight polyurethane element is far more efficient than handling heavy plaster or moisture-sensitive wood alternatives. The installation process requires preparing a clean, dry surface, cutting precise joints, and applying high-performance polyurethane (PU) assembly adhesive. Mechanical fastening with screws is mandatory to secure the arch during curing. The factory-applied primer coat provides an excellent foundation for final painting, although applying a dedicated paint-manufacturer primer is optional and recommended to ensure long-term paint adhesion.
